I’ve been a practising therapist for over 20 years, qualifying in 14 different therapies over the course of that time. I’m just endlessly curious, and always keen to add to my toolbox for the benefit of myself and my clients.
My most recent qualifications have been in the field of coaching, and this is where I’ve really found my passion. My day-job employer, Kent County Council, recently sponsored me to take an apprenticeship, and as a result, I qualified in October 2025 with a Level 5 Diploma in Coaching and Mentoring.
I’ve since completed a short diploma in Chakra and Tarot Coaching, and I’m in the final throes of a course in Menopause Coaching. I’ve done the studying; I’m just getting in the last of the practice client work that’s required before I can graduate. I’m also qualified in Keto Weight Loss Coaching, and I’m part-way through a Spiritual Coaching course. Again – the more tools, the more options I have to support my clients.
Now, you may be aware that anyone can set themselves up as a coach at this point in time. It’s not a regulated industry in the UK. Some ‘coaches’ may have simply taken a self-directed online course where they only have to tick Completed on each section to achieve the qualification. And that may be all they need, if they already have the skills and just want to add to their knowledge.
My qualifications are much more in-depth than that. The Diploma in Coaching and Mentoring was an 18-month degree-level course, involving many hours of study, submitting detailed essays, and following an assessment process that was comprehensive and challenging. It’s fully accredited by the Chartered Institute of Management, among others.
The Menopause Coaching training, undertaken with Women of a Certain Stage, is an 18-week, competency-based certification programme of education, practice and knowledge-testing. With an expert faculty who are happy to answer questions from students and graduates, and a proven framework that’s supported thousands of clients to a happier, healthier menopause, it’s also backed by a global professional community and certificated by a number of professional bodies. It’s also one of the few that supports graduates in building their business. As Lauren Chiren, the main tutor on the course, says – ‘this is serious support, not a weekend badge.’
Why might you need a menopause coach? After all, there’s a heap of information out there on the menopause these days. Well, firstly, you need to know that they symptoms you’re experiencing may be the result of menopause, in the first place. Many of my potential future clients don’t realise this, and are living lives of quiet, if not silent, desperation, thinking there’s something very wrong with them.
But even if realise it’s menopause, isn’t the wealth of information part of the problem? There’s so much conflicting advice, and and so many products for menopaus, and let me tell you, some are way more helpful than others!
How do you navigate through the mass of conflicting advice? How do you find what works for you? How do you even know where to start? Overwhelm is a factor many of us struggle with these days, menopause or no, and having a trusted guide can make the flood of musts and shoulds ebb away into the calmer waters of understanding, planning and taking informed action. That’s why my signature coaching programme is called Coping to Confidence. You may appear to be managing just fine, but if inside, you’re barely coping with the changes menopause is causing, I see it as my job to guide you in finding your way to the confident assurance you deserve.
You aren’t broken. You don’t need fixing. You need understanding, support, and a safe space to explore how to navigate this. That’s why you need menopause coaching.
